Archibald Racing would like to announce the retirement of Group 1 winner Bois D'argent.
A remarkably consistent performer throughout his career, Bois D'argent retires with a record of seven wins and 18 placings from 44 starts, earning more than $1.8 million in prizemoney.
His crowning achievement came in the 2024 Group 1 Doomben Cup, where he produced a brilliant front-running performance to claim Queensland's premier weight-for-age contest.
Retiring as a sound and healthy nine-year-old, Bois D'argent leaves racing having been a wonderful servant to his connections and a much-loved member of the stable.
The next chapter of his life will see him transition to the care of Olympic event rider Shenae Lowings, where he will be reunited with former stablemate and fellow Group 1 winner Zaaki.
"I've always had a real soft spot for him – he's just such a lovely horse," Annabel Archibald said.
"He's going to live with Zaaki, who I was also fortunate enough to look after when he retired. Shenae Lowings has done a fantastic job with Zaaki and will now take care of Bois as well."
"She had him for a freshen-up a while ago and absolutely fell in love with him. We then asked the owners if we could take him on, and we are extremely grateful to OnTrack Thoroughbreds and his ownership group for allowing us to retain him."
"He'll have a few weeks off to enjoy himself before we start preparing him for Equimillion. He deserves a happy and well-earned retirement after everything he's achieved."
"He's been a phenomenal racehorse and a wonderful horse to have around the stable. We're all excited to see what he can do in this next chapter."
