Australian Bloodstock boss Jamie Lovett revealed two-year-old Eagle Farm winner Cherry Bomshell "would probably have a roll" at the Golden Slipper if the filly secured a spot in the $5m Group 1 dash.
The Annabel and Rob Archibald-trained filly was an eye-catcher in Brisbane, being strongly backed from $2.30 to $1.95 and scoring the QTIS Jewel Prelude (2YO fillies) in impressive fashion.
With the $72,500 connections banked for winning – and with prizemoney already earned – Cherry Bomshell is now on the fringe of scoring a spot in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill on March 21.
"We would probably have a roll in the Golden Slipper if she was to come out of today's run nicely and she was to make the Slipper field," Lovett said.
"We wouldn't run her again to try to squeeze her into the Slipper field, so what will be, will be.
"I do think she is a very good filly, don't underestimate how good she is.
"She carried 58.5kg today and she tracked into the race so well when Ben Thompson asked her to go.
"And she paraded like an old gelding before the race.
"One thing you can't measure with two-year-olds is improvement and she will be one to watch if she continues to improve."
